GENERAL HEALTH CHECK UP CAMPS
This organization is conducting Health checkup camps. Health camp checks your lifestyle assessing it to the risk of Silent Killer diseases such as Diabetes, Heart Diseases & Respiratory Diseases. The program is conducted with the help from the PHC, and the voluntary doctors who willingly participate in the program. It provides Senior Citizens with an insight of what these diseases are and how they affect your body. It also provides you with health behavior targets. Senior Citizens should set these targets so that they reduce the risk of diseases and improve their overall health. We encourage the Senior Citizens to undergo this Health Assessment at least twice a year to keep a close tab on your current Health and Lifestyle. The following checkups were usually conducted in the program Total Cholesterol (To identify the risk of developing Heart Disease) Triglyceride (To identify the risk of developing Heart Disease).Final reports are generated after the checkup.
HOSTEL FOR MINORITY WOMEN AND SHOT STAY HOME
This organization is dedicated to the Women's and children’s welfare and is implementing the Government of Karnataka programs and projects. Awareness education activities are conducted, One Day Care center(Crèche)is running for the last 10 years with the GIA from the GoK. Two Santwana Kendra (Women helpline 1091) one is at Anekal and one is at Bengaluru South Taluk which is running for the last 5 years. For the last 6 years each year, 60 women and children reaped the benefits of this hostel and continuing the same with zeal. These two santwana kendras are catering in Bengaluru south taluk and Anekal were women and children who are poor and the needy particularly the minorities are benefited. We are also the Service Provider under Prevention of Violence from Domestic Violence Act-2005. COUNSELING FOR OLDER ADULTS AND THE ELDERLY HOSTEL PROGRAM
Under this program, the organization is counseling the Senior Citizens who approach the Senior Citizen helpline. The main problem they face is the love and affection which is deprived by their siblings and relatives and the community as a whole. Sometimes they need a helping hand and a counseling center to render them as someone is there to hear their problems. Studies have found that counseling just as well as medication in relieving mild to moderate depression. And unlike antidepressants, therapy also addresses the underlying causes of the depression.
SENIOR CITIZEN HELPLINE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROGRAMS
This organization has all the infrastructure facilities and adequate office space for establishing and running the Senior Citizen Helpline, such as rented buildings, furniture and other facilities in facilitating the elderly and the older persons in place and counselors and social workers are in place and are working.
DELIVERY OF SENIOR CITIZEN HELPLINE AND CONSTRUCTIVELY ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM
The elderly and the older person who is deprived of their decent living, health care, rights and duties will be suitably constructively counseled, evaluated and provided the support required for individually according to their needs circumstances. The elderly people will be suitably created awareness among them and will be provided the elderly helpline No. The elders can call upon when the need arises. The main objective of the Helpline is to create awareness among them is the Parents and Senior Citizens Maintenance Act and its provisions provided in the act. It is in this act the elderly will be taken care of by their relative as per the tribunal established to address the maintenance and upkeep of the elderly and the senior citizen. The elderly will be suitably helped in filing cases against those who deprived the parents and senior citizen and followup action will ensure that they get their legitimate maintenance for a living.
AWARENESS EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR CITIZEN
Awareness education on the elderly about their well being is the primary duties of this Sr.Citizen Helpline. There is a provision of budgetary allocation under this scheme and the fund will be spent among the elderly and the Senior Citizen. Awareness crating among them is very essential as many of the Senior citizens are born in the early independence period and most of them are little literates or illiterates or attended school level education. Thus these elderly community is not aware of the government programs and schemes which will address their living needs and provide little support at the end of their living period. This organization will address these needs and facilities available with the government and governmental programs and non-governmental agencies. These awareness program and scheme will address, Provide rights, duties, exploitation, illiteracy, hygiene, elderly care and affection among the elderly, and the counselors.
MONITORING and REPORTING
The program will be implemented as per the schematic pattern. The officers of Directorate of Sr Citizen, differently-abled, and welfare officers of the department will be monitoring the program monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and also half-yearly returns; annual returns will be provided as per the scheme.
SENIOR CITIZEN IDENTITY CARD ISSUING PROGRAM
Under this program of the Government of Karnataka, the Elderly and the senior citizens are entitled to 25 % concession in the local State Transport Buses and town buses, railway, and even the banking organization is providing 0.5% interest for the general depositors. This facility is available to all the Senior Citizen who attained the age of 65. This organization has served the Senior Citizens as they issued Identity cards to the eligible Senior Citizen in Anekal. While issuing the Identity Card we followed strict guidelines, rules. Thus most of the Elderly community has Senior Citizen Identity card and they are using the card while traveling, while making deposits in banks and for the reservations for bus, train etc so that they are eligible to have a seat which is their legitimate due. Thus most of the Elderly community in Anekal has been benefited by this program.
